Second edition of the UNSTA DISEÑO event run by students for designers and students worldwide.
UNSTA is an Argentinian private university located in Yerba Buena, Tucumán where Graphic and Multimedia Design are taught. With the anual design event happening again after the pandemic hit we followed the steps of Josefina Díaz Vázquez and Ana Paula Pereira who revived it during 2021 to create a bigger and cooler event that shares knowledge and causes impact on as many designers we could reach.
Starting May 2022 we were team leaders, task supervisors and general coordinators to continue with the multiplatform design channel with creatives from all around the world. In total we had 12+ speakers, 100+ viewers per day, pop-ups and sponsorships in the week long event that took place in October 2022.
It was such an exciting event to take part of, we encountered difficulties we never expected and overcame them as a team so the event flourished and adapted to our vision.
It was a challenge for us to organize everything while still having to graduate and balance our work life outside of uni but it made it even more special and satisfying in the end and we couldnt be more proud of the outcome and everything we achieved.
A NEW BEGINING
We gave the event branding a revamp without compromising the soul of the event, the logo mark was kept as it was created in 2021 to maintain continuty but the colours and supporting elements were changed to give it a refresh and a new face.
The logo mark is called a "Virgulilla" and it comes from the shape of the letter Ñ, only present in the spanish language and unavoidable on the word diseño. It represents not only the event but where we come from, our roots.
For the colors we kept it bold and cool, it shows youthfulnes and adapts to every design. The logo always kept neutral while the shapes and typography explode in colour and good vibes.

THE MULTIMEDIA EXPERIENCE
Fresh branding was ready and everything was in shape to start organizing the logistics of the event. We truly weren't ready to face as many difficulties as we did and as intense as it was it made it even more satisfying watching it come to life.
We were team leaders, task supervisors and general coordinators. We found speakers for the event and maintained contact with them, interviewed them and organized schedules that worked for everyone's agendas. We were also in charge of getting in touch with sponsors and organizing giveaways for the community that we had built and designing all of the assets for the events social media, anything we had to print and coordinate, manage and live hosting of the event stream on Twitch.
THE PLATFORM
Previous events were done on-site and privately in our university campus. From 2021 the goal shifted, it was suddenly a free event broadcasted on Twitch to more than 200 live viewers every day.
We couldn't change this open door the broadcast brought us in 2022, we broadened the limits, had speakers from all over the globe and managed to keep being an official Institution channel but also be innovative, young design stream meant for all creatives.
I was in charge of making the stream happen and hosting it, we used Zoom calls with the speakers and OBS Studio to connect to our Twitch account to bring the event to life all week.

OUR COMMUNITY
Instagram was the key to communicating with our audience, we shared sneak peaks, activities and updates through posts, reels and stories.
We grew 600+ followers while posting with a thought out strategy that included a full calendar of updates, giveaways, engament with our students and good vibes.
THE UNSTA DISEÑO VIBES
To connect the virtual experience of the event with real life we placed stickers with secret QR codes to a Spotify Playlist created for the event based on the #vibes and music we imagined people would like to hear while designing and working.
We used the music to create a strong and powerful brand identity that could be added to any moment and picture of the event.
WALLPAPERS
One of our goals was to let students who were interested take part in something during the event, including people from all years, not only 2022 graduates.
Our plan was to contact students and former students and give them a prompt so they could design anything they wanted to create wallpapers and postcards that would be available for download on the event website for free.
The idea was a success and everyone we contacted wanted to take part and create something meaningful that represented them.
MERCH & PRINTS
We used stickers, posters, shirts and pins to bring the virtual experience to real life for students to get cool pictures and a bit of UNSTA DISEÑO for themselves.
It created a sense of community that helped us create hype for the event and make everyone feel connected.
UD MORNINGS
Our goal to include more students was difficult if we only stuck to a virtual setting which is why we created UD Mornings! Each day there would be pop-ups, events, giveaways and music to enjoy together in our University Campus.
Everyone loved it and it was so much fun for us, the students and the teachers that showed up!

It started by being an intervention by one student but it turned into a big collaboration with so many students that came up to us and asked to paint.
It turned out waaay better than we could have ever expected and it was extremely fun to come out of our comfort zone and draw a little.
WEBSITE
The UD website included a sign up to our newsletter where people could get alerts for streams and news about our sponsors.
Those who visited our website could also find a full schedule and pages to every speaker that would be present during the week and the students wallpapers that were also offered as freebies here, available for anyone to download!
UNSTA DISEÑO was a rollercoaster of emotions and an honor to take part of. It was an incredible opportunity to grow and learn from my colleagues and best friends. There were hard shoes to fill after UD2021 and it was a challenge to raise the standard even more.
We learned how hard work, an open mind and being a tiny bit crazy allowed us to reach goals we thought were unachievable. The event threw us into things we didn't even know we could do and had to learn on the spot and later learned to expect the unexpected constantly.
Solid teamwork, constant communication and raw passion is what brought this event together and I couldn't be more proud of the results and of the dream team that made it happen.
I have no words to explain how crazy this experience was and I can't wait to see what the next UD looks like.
